Science of Synthesis Welcomes Mariola Tortosa as New Editorial Board Member

We warmly welcome Prof. Mariola Tortosa of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain to the Science of Synthesis Editorial Board, as of April 1, 2026.

Boronic esters play a key role in Mariola’s research, in which she aims to develop new metal-catalyzed transformation reactions. Biologically active compounds inspire her constant interest in areas such as the total synthesis of natural products and photocatalytic reactions.

Mariola was awarded the Barluenga Medal in 2021 and the 2025 Research Excellence Award from the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry.
